Uma casa na aldeia...

São muitas as famílias que possuem uma “casa na aldeia” e que aproveitam as oportunidades dos tempos livres para aí passarem alguns dias.

Como essas casas estão a maior parte do tempo fechadas, o que geralmente acontece é que no Inverno estão muito frias e no Verão muito quentes, o que cria um certo desconforto quando se entra em casa, demorando o espaço interior, um dia ou dois a adquirir o ambiente ideal para nela se habitar.

Ora muitas vezes, um dia ou dois é precisamente o tempo que a família dispõe para usufruir da casa, antes de regressar de novo ao ambiente citadino. O que significa abandonar a “casa da aldeia” quando ela começava a estar confortável para se lá habitar.

O que é geralmente preciso ter numa “casa da aldeia” para garantir o conforto mínimo no Inverno? Um radiador em cada divisão e um termoacumulador na casa de banho. Ora o ideal seria poder ligar esses aparelhos dois dias antes de lá chegar. Isto sem ter de se gastar muito dinheiro, quer nos equipamentos, quer na instalação e manutenção dos mesmos.

Será que é preciso ter uma casa inteligente para se conseguir ter as condições de conforto mínimas numa casa?

Obviamente que não.

Recorrendo a equipamentos de domótica é possível resolver eficazmente a situação:
O que eu preciso é de um comunicador telefónico (rede fixa ou GSM) que receba as ordens de comando e que as faça chegar aos módulos receptores ligados aos aparelhos eléctricos que pretendo comandar.

Uma vez que a segurança da “casa da aldeia” é um factor imprescindível, pois a casa encontra-se desocupada a maior parte do tempo, posso recorrer ao comunicador telefónico do alarme para enviar as ordens de comando, beneficiando das economias de escala que isso representa e se esse alarme for compatível com um sistema de domótica via rede eléctrica (terá integrado um interface de comando compatível), basta colocar módulos receptores nas tomadas eléctricas onde ligam os radiadores e o termoacumulador (o próprio cliente os pode instalar evitando recorrer a um técnico especializado), para poder usufruir da função simples, mas muito útil, de aquecer os quartos e a água na sua “casa da aldeia”.

Quanto é que isto pode custar?

Um pequeno sistema de alarme com comunicador telefónico (linha fixa) que integre um interface de domótica custa aproximadamente € 250 e cada módulo receptor para comandar aparelhos pela rede eléctrica custa aproximadamente € 40.

Se considerarmos 3 divisões e uma casa de banho, gastaria € 410 para instalar a solução descrita.

Será que a segurança e o conforto da sua “casa da aldeia” não merecerá este investimento? A si de julgar.

SIMPLICITY

Today most of the people in our society is in contact with equipments tecnological sofisticated, wich most of the times requires some use to it, to take all the advantages of it’s functios and potential.

TV’s, Hi-Fi, VCR’s, remote controls, computers, mobile phones, microwave houvens, waching machines, faxes machines, etc, are some of those equipments, more and more commum in anybody family homes.

The acceptance degree of this kind of equipments is sucessively increasing as well as the learning time of it’s hand use is sucessively decreasing.

We can assume any related Telecare equipments to be installed at the end users houses that is sorted out to be of easy use and easy understanding have all the chances to be fasted accepted and adopted, provoking the end user search in the market. Commercially, they will be also interesting to be promoted by dealers and installers, making the process irreversible.

A automação doméstica, ou a DOMÓTICA, usa esses princípios aplicados à habitação particular e colectiva.

Utility

The utility concept at home is related to the comfort or well being definition. What someone says to be an utility at home means somehow a value added for his own comfort. An utility can be something that simplifies a task, speeds it up or even helps to get a better “environment” at home.

We can be just talking of a simple remote control, time programmer, appliance module, presence detector or something else.

The important is that any user could find of some utility dedicated equipment to special applications at home, to personalize his own environment at home.

Since the well being at home is something that is in continuos evolution, anything that could be installed, must be set up to sustain time evolution, integrating or being compatible to future modules or changed without costs. Taking this under consideration, we have to assume the power line carrier as one of the best cabling system to accept any changes at any time. Any other cabling system carrier implies a technical and economical reflection about it’s need and it’s utility, which conclusions never meet end user interests.

More than an alternative to the power line carrier, there is the radio frequency communication carrier. It uses low power emitters and has the advantage (over the infrared signals) to cross the walls, allowing, for example to control any device from any room of the house.

Any equipment to be installed at end users houses must be considered by them necessary and of some utility.

Any business approach to the Home Automation market, must be focused on the following top priority convincing topic:

NECESSITY

The actual search for Telecare services integrating home automation applications, has two fundamental approaches to be taken under consideration:

1- From one side, there is the practical and economical end user approach;

2- From the other, there is the industrial companies, where each technological solution to be presented must be considered enough and sufficient by the common end user in order to correspond to the general potential market.

The correct balance between those two approaches represents the balance between the offer and search of Telecare products and services.

What do generally people need to add to there homes to achieve it’s principles habitability problems?

Answer:

SECURITY - There is no doubt that it’s something everybody needs at home. In Portugal there are an average of 16 burglary attempts per hour and not everybody has the financial capabilities of purchasing sophisticated (an expensive) burglar alarms.

SAFETY - Gas leaks, flood and fire are more and more expressive in home disasters. This is also something people do not question the need of having a systems controlling this kind of alarms. What they can (and usually do) question is how much it costs.

ENERGY SAVINGS - With the energy cost rising more and more and people buying each more electrical equipments to increase their comfort at home, the energy cost became a preoccupation factor among European families. There is an increasing need on being able to control it.

COMUNICATIONS - Our society is each more dependable on the communications. Communicate became a necessity of everyday. Telephone, fax machine, mobile phone or by computer, everybody communicates. More than an work instrument, the communications link people to services and services to people. The Telecare services are with any doubt needed and welcome by everybody. Who wouldn’t like to be noticed when his house suffered a bugler attempt? Or when a gas leak had occurred? Or if the someone at home suddenly needs help?

The answers to these questions are a necessity in the nowadays homes and the value added of the actual building constructions.
